Gravity's Rainbow (Penguin Classics Deluxe Edition) review

The Stranger review

Less Than Zero review

The unblinkingly casual narrative makes it all the more horrifying.

Black Hole review

One of the most human graphic novels I've encountered, reads as good as it looks. Burns' distinct illustrative style in stark black and white creates a duality of comfort and fear. Visceral and hallucinatory, perhaps hypnotic, there is a constant pairing of warm, sensual familiarity and inimical sickening estrangement.
A relatively quick read, but leaves you thinking long afterward.

"Crawlspace!? Klaus Kinski was great in this one, and veritably creepy. Sure it had some cheese, but worst of '86? Did you sleep through it?"

"Enjoyed 'Splinter' for it's cheese factor, pretty good popcorn flick. Loved 'Them' and 'Timecrimes', although not sure the latter really counts as horror. 'Mothman Prophecies' gave me the creeps when"

"Ha, this list is great. Walker can't act worth a shit, not to mention he's a huge douche."

"Decent list. Silent Shout is an absolutely brilliant album. Also, kudos for Pixies and Sabbath."

"This actually seems to me like some of the WORST crime shows. Ever heard of The Shield? Dexter? Anything besides a million iterations of CSI and Law and Order?"
